The Reasons Satellite Internet Continues to Expand So Vigorously

Anybody that pays any attention to the different kinds of internet service available on the market today can't help but notice the incredible growth of the satellite internet industry across the nation and across the consumer population.  It was an industry that experienced slow growth at first during the early years due to the fact that a handful of technical difficulties presented serious obstacles to an excellent customer experience; yet ever since these issues were overcome a few years back the growth of the satellite internet industry has been absolutely spectacular, both in urban and rural markets throughout the country.  Of course, such amazing growth has to be based on solid facts and benefits to the end user, and this is no exception.  Here, let's take a look at what some of the most important reasons for this growth are and also at why the satellite telecommunications field will continue to grow healthily well into the future.

For starters, let's discuss the kinds of technical problems that the industry faced earlier on and what the solutions discovered are and how they affect the service.  A big problem for satellite communications in general has always been rain fade, a general term for describing the dispersion or absorption of the satellite signal by moisture in the atmosphere (whether in the form of clouds, rain, snow, or ice crystals).  This problem has been known (or rather, had been known) to cause interruptions in the service that could last up to several hours in the worst instances, until a large storm blew over.  All in all, it was a major problem that was keeping a lot of people away from subscribing to any kind of satellite service, whether internet or otherwise, especially in areas where heavy rain or snow storms are a frequent occurrence.  The solution was finally discovered by engineers who began tweaking with the frequency bands being used by the satellite uplink stations and the actually orbiting satellites many thousands of miles up in the sky: rather than using the traditional frequencies the industry had been using since its inception, they tried switching the signal over to higher as well as lower frequency bands'and the results were simply phenomenal.  All of a sudden, a person could watch their television or use their satellite internet connection during the entire duration of a major storm without experiencing a single interruption'a real triumph.

Another reason that satellite internet has been faring so well lately is the fact that signal latency has also been largely overcome (this problem has to do with the time lapse between a signal being emitted at one end and being received at the other).  Whereas in earlier times the latency was almost one entire second, today it is so vastly small that users can hardly tell there is one at all.

And finally, the satellite internet industry is reputable because it offers the best in customer service, something which the cable competition is simply dismal at (and this is a big reason for satellite's growth in urban areas).
